Academic Coaching

Being a student (of any age) is often an exciting time of possibility, meeting new people, learning, and exploring.  It can also be a tidal wave of expectations, work, social experiences, and new demands.

Having an Academic Coach is the key to navigating your education with success. Our unique coaching strength is coaching from the inside out.  We address the student’s internal beliefs and self-imposed limitations. This has a long-term and lasting impact and affects external results, including school work, grades, self-efficacy, communication, and interpersonal relationships.

Academic Coaching includes:

  • Help the student develop skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in their education.
  • Academic and career goal setting. Work with the student on their chosen goals.
  • Planning and time management.
  • Provide accountability when needed.
  • Support the student in understanding they are responsible for their goals and actions.
  • Work as a partner in success, not a manager or position of authority.
  • Evoke goals, create an action plan, course correct when needed, and help put the commitments into practice.
  • Support the student in being and doing their best.
  • Increase self-regulation and self-accountability.
  • Help bridge the gap between where the student is, and where they want to be.
  • Building confidence as a student and a person.
  • Meeting the student where they are with acceptance and compassion.
  • Communication with parents regarding requests and concerns.
  • Believe in the student and support them in believing in themselves.
  • Sitting with the student while they study, through technology or in person.
  • Provides solidarity and support so the student is less likely to experience isolation or loneliness in their challenges.
  • Integrating education with other domains of life, i.e., family, friends, hobbies etc.
  • Checks on self-care: sleep, diet, water, alcohol, rest, and exercise.
  • Identify and work on limiting beliefs and fears: perfectionism, procrastination, fear of failure/success, self-doubt, sabotage, unworthiness, judgment, overwhelm, insecurities, etc.

As every student is different, an academic coaching package is created for each individual, and if relevant, their family.  Packages start at $100 a month.
